Overview 2024 Maserati Ghibli
The sleek and muscular 2024 Ghibli serves as the entry point to Maserati’s sports sedan lineup, but it is not a budget-friendly performer. Equipped with either the 424-hp twin-turbo V-6 or the 572-hp twin-turbo V-8, the Ghibli delivers impressive acceleration, accompanied by a melodic exhaust sound. When faced with twisty roads, the Ghibli’s sport-tuned chassis offers plenty of entertainment for the driver.
However, its strengths end there, as the Ghibli’s cabin disappoints with outdated technology and subpar fit and finish. Those seeking a more upscale interior should consider the Genesis G80 or the Mercedes-Benz E-Class instead. Nevertheless, the Ghibli offers an exotic flavor that these competitors lack, and the exclusivity associated with owning a Maserati should not be overlooked.
The V-8 powered Ghibli is nearing the end of its run, so in commemoration, a special Trofeo 334 Ultima trim will be offered, featuring unique styling elements that distinguish it from the V-6 powered models. The V-6 engine will continue to be available in the Modena trim, which receives updates for 2024 including new 21-inch wheels, red-painted brake calipers, sport seats with red stitching, and standard features such as ventilated front seats, a Harman/Kardon stereo system, and black leather upholstery.
The Trofeo 334 Ultima variant includes the powerful 572-hp twin-turbo V-8 engine and showcases a special blue paint known as Scià di Persia, carbon-fiber exterior trim, and distinctive 334 emblems throughout its design. While Maserati has not officially confirmed it yet, we suspect that 2024 will be the final model year for their entry-level sports sedan.
Although the Ghibli nameplate may be revived in the future, it does not appear to be part of the brand’s current revitalization plan, which includes the MC20 sports car, a new-generation GranTurismo coupe, and the upcoming Grecale SUV.
Exterior Design of the 2024 Maserati Ghibli
The design of the 2024 Maserati Ghibli is a testament to Maserati’s commitment to creating visually striking and aerodynamically efficient vehicles. The sleek and aggressive lines of the Ghibli give it a commanding presence on the road. The front fascia features a signature grille with the iconic trident logo, flanked by striking LED headlights that illuminate the road ahead with precision. The sculpted hood and muscular fenders further enhance its sporty appeal. Moving to the rear, the quad exhaust tips and sleek taillights add a touch of sophistication to the Ghibli’s overall design.
Ghibli 2024 still maintains the design DNA from the previous generation and has the appearance of its “elder” Quattroporte, but is more personality and sporty with sharp lines. The vehicle has a lightweight chassis but still ensures optimized power and a perfect 50:50 weight distribution ratio.
Front of car: Sporty
Standing out at the front of the car is the embossed ribs on the hood that create the shape of a shark’s jaw. The full LED headlight cluster includes 15 bulbs that significantly improve long-distance visibility compared to traditional headlights and are more energy efficient. The grille has elegant vertical slats, with the famous Maserati trident logo in the middle.
Car body: 18-20 inch wheels enhance the appearance
The body design gently slopes towards the rear, reminiscent of a coupe. Notable highlights in the body include the 3 characteristic ventilation holes. Along with that is the trident logo placed near the rear window frame and subtly blurred.
Adding to the sportiness of the car’s body are the extended wheel arches that fully embrace the large 18-20 inch wheels and flexible embossed lines. The rim design is diverse and bold, providing many personalization options for the owner.
Rear: Personalized boomerang taillights
The rear of the Maserati Ghibli 2024 exudes masculinity and solidity with a 2-compartment LED boomerang taillight cluster, one compartment gently sweeping the side and one compartment adjacent to the rear trunk door. The chrome-plated dual exhaust pipes protruding slightly from the rear bumper also emphasize the strong appearance of the car.

Interior Comfort of the 2024 Maserati Ghibli
Step inside the 2024 Maserati Ghibli, and you’ll be greeted by a luxurious and meticulously crafted cabin. The use of premium materials such as hand-stitched leather, real wood trim, and brushed aluminum accents create an environment that exudes opulence. The seats are ergonomically designed and provide excellent support, ensuring comfort during long drives. The spacious interior offers ample legroom for both front and rear passengers, making it ideal for families or those who appreciate extra space.
The interior of the Maserati Ghibli 2024 still maintains a clear and decisive design style with a stylized T-shaped center console, characterized by curves from the center radiating to the two sides. Most prominent on the dashboard is the 3-spoke sports steering wheel, traditional clock cluster, 10.1-inch central touch screen and aluminum gear shift lever.
The rows of seats are covered with high-quality leather, the front seats are sportily designed to hug the occupants, with a 6-way power driver’s seat with 2-position memory and a 8-way power or 4-way manual front passenger seat. The rear seats are spacious enough for all 3 adults to sit, with a convenient heating function.
The car has a luggage compartment with a capacity of 500L and the rear seats can be folded in a 60:40 ratio to optimize storage capacity. In particular, the car’s rear bumper is also equipped with a foot sensor that allows for convenient opening and closing of the electric trunk.
Technology and Connectivity of the 2024 Maserati Ghibli
The 2024 Maserati Ghibli is equipped with an impressive array of technology features that enhance convenience, entertainment, and safety. The centerpiece of the infotainment system is an intuitive touchscreen display that allows easy access to various functions such as navigation, audio controls, and smartphone integration. Additionally, advanced driver-assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring ensure a safe and stress-free driving experience. With connectivity options like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you can seamlessly integrate your smartphone with the vehicle’s infotainment system.
The 2024 Maserati Ghibli is equipped with an electric sunroof with painted safety glass, bringing airiness to the cabin space. The 10.1-inch HD central touchscreen has a new graphical interface that allows the driver to interact easily.
The new generation of Ghibli uses the Maserati Intelligent Assistant infotainment system similar to the MC20 supercar with many improved features and personalized user experience. Along with that is the Maserati Connect system that supports connection to smartphones, security features and vehicle maintenance schedule notifications.
The in-car entertainment experience is also enhanced with a standard 10-speaker Harman Kardon system or a high-end 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system. The car’s space is cooled by an independent 2-zone automatic air conditioning system, combined with an air quality sensor to keep the cabin space fresh and safe for the user’s health.
Other amenities of the car include wireless charging, USB connection, AUX, Bluetooth, Wifi, DVD player, SD card reader, satellite navigation system, hands-free calling, 12V socket, storage compartment, glove box for driver and passenger…
Performance and Powertrain of the 2024 Maserati Ghibli
Under the hood, the 2024 Maserati Ghibli offers an exhilarating driving experience with its powerful engine options. The base model is equipped with a turbocharged V6 engine that produces an impressive output of 345 horsepower. For those seeking even more performance, Maserati offers a higher trim level with a twin-turbo V6 engine that generates a breathtaking 424 horsepower. The Ghibli’s responsive handling and precise steering make it a joy to drive on both city streets and winding roads.
The Modena is the base model of the 2024 Ghibli lineup, equipped with a twin-turbo V-6 engine producing 424 horsepower. Opting for the range-topping Trofeo 334 Ultima model adds a more powerful twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 engine, generating 572 horsepower. The Trofeo is available only with rear-wheel drive, while the Modena comes standard with all-wheel drive (referred to as Q4 by Maserati).
Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In our previous test of a V-6-powered Ghibli in 2014, we were captivated by its exotic engine sounds. It achieved a respectable zero-to-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds at our test track, although it may now be surpassed by non-AMG versions of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The V-8-powered Trofeo model delivers even more power, and we estimate it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The Ghibli’s on-road performance is spirited, while maintaining a level of refinement that positions it among today’s top luxury sports sedans.
Fuel Efficiency of the 2024 Maserati Ghibli
In addition to its exceptional performance, the 2024 Maserati Ghibli also prioritizes fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness. With advancements in engineering and aerodynamics, Maserati has managed to improve fuel economy without compromising on power. The Ghibli features a start-stop system that shuts off the engine when idling to conserve fuel. Additionally, the hybrid variant of the Ghibli is available for those looking for an even more eco-conscious option.
Due to the absence of a base four-cylinder model, the Ghibli’s EPA fuel economy ratings are higher than those of the average mid-size luxury car. The V-6 models achieve ratings of 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
The V-8-powered Trofeo, on the other hand, has ratings of 13 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. Although we have not yet tested the Ghibli on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, we plan to update this review once we have the opportunity to do so. For more detailed information regarding the Ghibli’s fuel economy, we recommend visiting the EPA’s website.
Safety Features of the 2024 Maserati Ghibli
Safety is always a top priority, and Maserati has equipped the 2024 Ghibli with an array of advanced safety features. The vehicle comes with multiple airbags strategically placed throughout the cabin to protect occupants in the event of a collision. Other safety features include antilock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance systems to help prevent accidents.
The Ghibli is equipped with a variety of driver-assistance features, the majority of which come as standard equipment. For further information regarding the Ghibli’s crash test results, we recommend visiting the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Key safety features include:
- Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
- Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
- Standard adaptive cruise control
Maserati Ghibli 2024 is equipped with Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) – the highest level of autonomous driving today, bringing peace of mind to drivers in many different traffic conditions. Along with that are segment-leading modern safety features such as:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Lane keeping assist
- 360 degree camera
- Highway assistance system
- Active blind spot assist
- Traffic sign recognition
- Hill descent control
- Collision warning…
Pricing and Options of the 2024 Maserati Ghibli
Modena
|
$110,995 |
Trofeo 334 Ultima | $166,495 |
The 2024 Maserati Ghibli is available in various trim levels, each offering a unique set of features and customization options. The price range for the Ghibli starts at around $75,000 for the base model and can go up to $100,000 or more for higher trim levels with additional packages and options.
If the starting price of the Ghibli seems steep, it’s because it is. Most mid-size luxury sedans typically begin around $55,000 and go up from there. However, these competing sedans usually come with turbocharged four-cylinder engines as standard, with more powerful V-6 engines available at higher price points.
The Ghibli, on the other hand, skips the four-cylinders and offers a twin-turbo V-6 as standard. While we appreciate Maserati’s twin-turbo V-8, we recommend opting for the Modena Ultima, as its 424 horsepower is more than sufficient for a car of this size.
