Lamborghini has introduced a sleek plug-in hybrid supercar that impressively runs for six miles in electric-only mode.
Lamborghini car has recently unveiled its latest creation, the Revuelto, a plug-in hybrid supercar catering to speed enthusiasts, though it may not be the most eco-conscious option. In all-electric mode, the Revuelto can only cover a modest distance of 6.2 miles on a full charge, making it unsuitable for longer journeys. However, the combustion engine swiftly replenishes the 3.8kWh battery in just six minutes through regenerative braking on the front wheels, as highlighted in the company’s press release.
Emphasizing power, acceleration, and maximum speeds, the engine’s focus is on delivering an impressive 814 horsepower at an astounding 9,250 rpm. With its lightweight design, the engine weighs 480 pounds and boasts a remarkable power level of 126 hp per liter, the highest output in Lamborghini’s 12-cylinder engine history.

Inspired by aerospace engineering, the Revuelto’s exterior showcases sculpted surfaces, pointed lines, and hexagonal exhausts, while incorporating design elements reminiscent of past Lamborghini models. Inside, the car boasts cutting-edge technology, such as a 12.3-inch digital cockpit with a large center display, a spacious 9-inch passenger-side display, and a range of infotainment options. Additionally, it marks Lamborghini’s first foray into advanced driver-assist systems. A dedicated smartphone and smartwatch app allow users to monitor fuel level, battery status, range, and GPS location, and even perform remote tasks like activating the horn, lights, and locks.
The Revuelto is just the beginning of Lamborghini and parent company Volkswagen’s electric ambitions, with plans to release an all-electric luxury vehicle by 2030. Nonetheless, they also intend to continue producing combustion engines fueled by synthetic fuel well into the 2030s. Prospective buyers can expect the Lamborghini Revuelto to hit the market later this year, but with a staggering price tag of $542,165, as reported by Automotive News Europe.
