Whether you’re looking for a practical daily driver or a comfortable family car, the Civic 2024 is definitely worth considering. With its excellent safety ratings and affordable pricing, it’s no wonder that the Honda Civic continues to be a fan favorite in the automotive industry.
The 2024 Honda Civic is fuel efficient, stylish, and fun to drive, making it a winner in our opinion. It is the epitome of a small car and is often the first choice for those seeking frugal and practical daily transportation. It outshines competitors such as the Hyundai Elantra and the Mazda 3 in this regard. The base models come with a 158-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but more powerful options are also available, including a 180-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and a hybrid powertrain. All models come standard with a touchscreen infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a comprehensive list of driver-assistance features. While it may not have the same level of performance as the Civic Si and Civic Type R, the standard Civic still offers drivers an enjoyable experience with its precise handling and refined road manners.
Introduction to the Honda Civic 2023
The Honda Civic has been a popular choice among car enthusiasts for decades, and the 2024 model is no exception. The latest iteration of this compact sedan combines style, performance, and cutting-edge features to deliver an exceptional driving experience. With its sleek design and advanced technology, the Civic 2024 aims to set new standards in its class.
A hybrid powertrain will be added to the Civic lineup in 2024. Honda has announced that the Civic hybrid will be available as both a sedan and a hatchback, both equipped with a version of the hybrid powertrain found in the Accord hybrid. This means that it will feature a four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors, delivering an estimated power output of 180 to 200 horsepower.
Exterior Design and Styling of Honda Civic 2023
The exterior design of the Honda Civic 2024 is truly remarkable, as it effortlessly combines elegance and sportiness in perfect harmony. The sleek lines and aerodynamic profile contribute to its overall modern and sophisticated appearance, making heads turn wherever it goes. The front fascia is particularly striking, with a bold grille that exudes confidence and is accented with chrome trimmings, adding a touch of luxury. The LED headlights not only enhance the car’s aesthetics but also provide exceptional visibility, ensuring a safe and enjoyable driving experience.
Moving along the sculpted sides and smooth curves, one can’t help but appreciate the car’s dynamic stance, exuding a sense of power and agility. And let’s not forget about the rear end, which showcases sleek LED taillights that perfectly complement the car’s overall design. The integrated spoiler adds a sporty touch, hinting at the car’s performance capabilities. In conclusion, the exterior design of the Honda Civic 2024 is a true testament to Honda’s commitment to excellence, as it effortlessly combines elegance, sportiness, and functionality in a visually captivating package.
Interior Comfort and Features of Honda Civic 2023
Step inside the Honda Civic 2024, and you’ll be greeted by a spacious and comfortable cabin. The interior design is both functional and stylish, with high-quality materials and attention to detail. The seats are ergonomic and supportive, ensuring a comfortable ride even on long journeys. The dashboard features a user-friendly layout, with a centrally positioned touchscreen display that provides access to various infotainment and connectivity options.
The interior design of the car has been streamlined, with clean lines and a dashboard that includes a full-width honeycomb-patterned mesh design element. This design cleverly conceals the air vents. The center console is wider and less cluttered compared to the previous model. It also includes a large, deep bin in front of the shift lever, which is perfect for storing smartphones, keys, and snacks for road trips. Honda claims that passenger space remains approximately the same, while the cargo bay has been increased to provide more room.

Performance and Engine Options of Honda Civic 2023
When it comes to performance, the Honda Civic 2024 doesn’t disappoint. It offers a range of engine options to suit different driving preferences. The base model comes equipped with a responsive 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers ample power for daily commuting. For those seeking more performance, there is an available turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that provides an extra boost in power and torque. Both engines are mated to a smooth-shifting automatic transmission, ensuring a seamless driving experience.
Even though the Civic was redesigned for 2022, the powertrain options remain the same as the previous-generation car. Base models come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower, while the upgraded engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that now delivers 180 horsepower. The new Civic is only available as a front-wheel-drive car. Unfortunately, the manual transmission that was offered on the previous generation Civic sedan has been discontinued for 2022, and only a CVT is available. However, the hatchback model still offers a six-speed manual transmission.
During our testing, the turbocharged Touring sedan took 7.5 seconds to reach 60 mph, which is slightly slower than the previous generation Civic. The manual Sport Touring hatchback we tested performed slightly better, reaching 60 mph in 7.3 seconds. Fortunately, the nimble handling, responsive steering, and well-balanced ride that we admired in the previous-generation model are still present in the new model. The sporty Si and high-performance Type-R variants are also available and will be reviewed separately.
Advanced Technology and Connectivity of Honda Civic 2023
The Honda Civic 2024 is packed with advanced technology features that enhance both convenience and safety. The centerpiece of the tech suite is the touchscreen infotainment system, which supports smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This allows drivers to seamlessly access their favorite apps, make calls, and navigate using voice commands or the intuitive touchscreen interface. Additionally, the Civic 2024 offers advanced driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.
The touchscreen infotainment system in the Civic is positioned high on the dashboard to help you keep your eyes on the road. It features intuitive on-screen menus and responds promptly to your inputs. The graphics for the optional integrated navigation system may appear slightly outdated, but the map functions work perfectly. In our Touring trim, we had the larger 9-inch screen, while lower trims come with a smaller 7-inch version. However, most users will likely choose to use the standard Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone projection. In the Touring trim, these systems can connect wirelessly to your phone, but you can also use a USB cable if you prefer. We found that using a USB cable provided faster connection speeds.
Honda’s new camera-based advanced driving aids generally perform well. We did encounter some false alarms for frontal collision warnings, and the lane keeping assistance occasionally struggled with faded lane markings, although these instances were rare. The adaptive cruise control sometimes brakes slightly late, but overall it does a commendable job of reducing the stress of driving in heavy traffic.
Safety Features and Driving Experience of Honda Civic 2023
Safety has always been a top priority for Honda, and the Civic 2024 is no exception. The car comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features to protect both occupants and pedestrians. This includes advanced airbag systems, antilock brakes, stability control, and traction control. Furthermore, Honda Sensing, the brand’s proprietary safety technology, is standard on all trims of the Civic 2024. This suite includes features such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring.
A variety of driver-assistance features will be provided as standard, including automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist. To learn more about the Civic’s crash test results, please visit the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Key safety features include:
- Standard automated emergency braking
- Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
- Standard adaptive cruise control
The Honda Civic 2024 offers an engaging driving experience that combines agility, comfort, and efficiency. The well-tuned suspension provides a smooth ride over various road surfaces while maintaining excellent handling capabilities. The precise steering allows for confident maneuvering in tight spaces or on winding roads. Additionally, the cabin is well-insulated from external noise, ensuring a quiet and relaxing atmosphere for both the driver and passengers.

Fuel Efficiency of Honda Civic 2023
In an era where fuel efficiency is becoming increasingly important, the Honda Civic 2024 shines. Thanks to its lightweight construction and efficient engine options, the Civic delivers impressive fuel economy figures. The base model achieves around 32 MPG in city driving and up to 42 MPG on the highway, making it an ideal choice for daily commuting or long-distance travel.
The EPA estimates that the Civic Touring, which is equipped with a turbocharged engine, will achieve 34 mpg in combined city/highway driving. The EX model performs even better with 36 mpg combined. In either case, the Civic surpasses its closest competitors by approximately 3 to 4 mpg. During our evaluation, we achieved a fuel efficiency of 33.4 mpg with our Civic Touring test car on a mixed-driving route. Although this falls slightly short of our expectations based on the EPA’s figures, it is still an impressive result.
Pricing and Trim Options of Honda Civic 2023
The Honda Civic 2024 is available in various trim levels to suit different budgets and preferences. The base LX trim offers a great value for money with its generous list of standard features. Moving up the trim ladder, you’ll find additional amenities and luxury touches in higher-level trims such as EX or Touring. Pricing starts at around $21,000 for the base model and goes up to approximately $30,000 for the fully loaded Touring trim.
The 2024 Honda Civic has a starting price of $25,045, which can go up to over $32,000. The base trim level is called LX, but there are high-end models like the EX-L and Touring that offer more features. We recommend the well-equipped EX sedan, which comes with many additional features that easily justify the price increase. These include blind-spot monitoring, a power sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated exterior mirrors, and heated front seats. Additionally, it comes standard with the more powerful 180-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. If you’re buying the hatchback, we suggest the EX-L, which offers similar equipment and adds leather upholstery.
