However, with the Competition is increasingly fierce in the SUV world, a new generation of Murano has become more necessary than ever. Finally, the first spy photos of this new generation have appeared, giving us our first look at the changes of the 2024 Nissan Murano.

While the 2024 Nissan Murano is a spacious and comfortable two-row crossover with a distinctive design, it quickly loses its appeal when compared to more modern rival SUVs. Two-row rivals such as the Honda Passport, the Hyundai Santa Fe, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee also fail to impress us, but all three offer more practicality with their boxier bodies and come equipped with more up-to-date infotainment features. Simply put, the Murano is outclassed by the competition, and it’s time for Nissan to consider retiring this generation of its mid-size crossover.

The current generation of the Murano is approaching the end of its lifespan, as Nissan plans to release a fourth-generation version of the two-row SUV in 2025. In this final model year, there are few changes, but the base S trim has been removed and the mid-range SL model now includes a panoramic sunroof as a standard feature.

At the rear, a new lower fascia and slimmer taillights are connected by LED strips.

Step inside the 2024 Nissan Murano, and you’ll be greeted by a luxurious and spacious cabin. The high-quality materials, plush seats, and refined finishes create an upscale ambiance. The Murano comfortably accommodates five passengers, with ample legroom and headroom in both the front and rear seats. The rear seats can also be folded down to create additional cargo space when needed.

The cabin of the Murano is adequately nice and well-equipped, but the design does appear outdated. In our testing, the Platinum trim level featured soft leather upholstery on the seats, door panels, and armrests, as well as a dark teak-wood trim. The heavily cushioned front seats offer comfortable seating positions for both occupants. Rear-seat passengers can enjoy a comfortable reclining bench seat with ample padding.

However, with the rear seat folded down, we were able to fit 26 suitcases inside the cabin. Most of the interior storage cubby bins are of adequate size, except for the Murano’s glovebox, which is exceptionally large.
