Overview 2024 Chevrolet Corvette
We’ve been singing the praises of the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette since its launch because it brings mid-engine supercar performance to the affordable end of the sports-car spectrum. It costs half as much as more exotic rivals, but you’re not getting only half the thrills. A naturally aspirated V-8 engine thunders just behind your skull, providing the auditory chills of an exotic sports car. The Vette’s handling is razor-sharp and endlessly rewarding on a twisty back road. Track days are a joy, with confidence-boosting handling and massive amounts of power on tap that make blasting out of corners a hoot.
When it comes to commuting and road-tripping, the Corvette transforms into a comfortable cruiser with a near-luxury cabin, an agreeable ride, and a surprising amount of cargo capacity. Its dual-purpose personality has earned it yet another 10Best award for 2024. Both a coupe and a convertible model are offered, but even the coupe comes with a lift-off targa top so you always have the option of basking in the sun and feeling the wind in your hair. What more could you ask for? Well, for those who do want to turn things up to the max, there’s always the killer Corvette Z06 (reviewed separately), which does just that.
While Chevy is busy introducing the hybrid Corvette E-Ray for 2024, it has also made updates to the entry-level Stingray model. In addition to three new colors—Riptide Blue, Cacti Green, and Sea Wolf Gray—the Corvette now offers new wheel designs and five new racing-stripe colors. Inside, there is a new pale-green Artemis interior scheme available, and all models come with an electronic rear-view mirror that can project a video image from a rear-facing camera.
Even the car’s engine bay has received upgrades, with optional packages available for both the coupe and convertible. Another new feature is power operation for the rear hatch, making it easier to close up the engine bay after admiring the V-8. Furthermore, Chevrolet has included a suite of driver-assistance features as standard across the range, including automated emergency braking, pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic high-beam headlamps, and lane-keeping assist.
Powertrain Performance of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette
The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is a performance beast that pushes boundaries and leaves a lasting impression. Under the hood, you will find a heart-pounding 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates a mind-blowing 600 horsepower. This powertrain is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, ensuring seamless gear shifts and quick acceleration.
The Corvette’s performance is further enhanced by its lightweight construction and aerodynamic design. The use of carbon fiber materials reduces weight and improves overall handling. With a top speed of over 200 mph and a 0-60 mph time of just under three seconds, the 2024 Corvette delivers an exhilarating driving experience that will leave you breathless.
Although the engine is located behind the passenger compartment instead of in front of it, the Corvette retains its familiar 6.2-liter pushrod V-8, which produces 490 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. With the dual-mode performance exhaust included in the Z51 package, it generates 495 horsepower. The Z51 option also adds an electronic limited-slip rear differential, more aggressive brakes, and summer tires.
The sole transmission option is an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, a first for the Corvette. It can be controlled using a push-button gear selector on the center console or two large steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles. A manual transmission is not available. In our testing, we achieved a 60-mph time of 2.8 seconds, and completed the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 122 mph in a car equipped with the Z51 performance package and the optional FE4 magnetorheological dampers.
We managed a braking distance of 149 feet from 70 mph and recorded 1.03 g’s on the skidpad. Even in its base form, however, the new Corvette showcases heroic handling and outstanding performance.
Exterior Design of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette
The design of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is a perfect blend of elegance and aggression. The sleek profile, sharp lines, and sculpted body give the Corvette a commanding presence on the road. The iconic front grille, flared wheel arches, and quad exhaust tips further contribute to its bold and sporty appearance.
The 2024 Corvette also features several aerodynamic elements, such as a rear spoiler and side air intakes, which not only enhance its performance but also add to its visual appeal. The available color options range from classic shades like Torch Red and Arctic White to more vibrant options like Rapid Blue and Sebring Orange, allowing buyers to personalize their Corvette to their liking.
For the American car company – Chevrolet, the Corvette C8 is the car model that marks a major turning point in design language. With its supercar style and engine block placed in the middle, the Corvette C8 is like a big magnet and quickly became a phenomenon.
The sexy, soft appearance of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 is thanks to the blend of the beauty of the Lockheed Martin F22/F35 fighter aircraft and Formula 1 racing cars. The car has an overall dimension LxWxH of 4,630, respectively. x 1,933 x 1,234 mm.
What surprises customers the most is that the weight of the Corvette C8 is only 1,530 kg even though it does not use carbon fiber like its competitors. This is thanks to the chassis made from aluminum combined with compounds containing fiberglass. Despite its light weight, the Corvette C8’s chassis still ensures solidity.
Viewed from the front of the car, the Corvette C8 impresses with its sharp, angular full-LED lighting system. In front is the Chevrolet logo in a “V” shape with a checkered racing flag. The central diffuser and air intakes on both sides have been maximized, significantly improving aerodynamics.
What customers like most about the Chevrolet Corvette C8 is that the hood can be completely removed by hand and can be easily placed in the rear trunk. Besides, the car still has an electric opening/closing mechanism.
The next highlight on the side is the large air intake in the middle, helping to improve aerodynamics. The “legs” of the Corvette C8 have a star-shaped 5-double-spoke structure with dimensions of 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. In particular, the wheels also have additional air vents to help optimize performance when traveling at high speeds.
Chevrolet Corvette C8 looks like a supercar with an engine compartment cover made of glass. The rear trunk has an embossed stingray logo because it belongs to the Stingray version with a stingray design. Comes with a snap door feature that makes opening/closing easier.
So that the large capacity naturally aspirated engine block can express its power. The American car company has equipped it with a square, symmetrically placed dual exhaust system that produces powerful sounds.
Interior Comfort of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette
Step inside the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, and you will be greeted by a driver-focused cockpit that exudes luxury and sophistication. The interior is crafted with premium materials like leather upholstery, carbon fiber accents, and brushed aluminum trim. The attention to detail is evident throughout the cabin, making it a truly special place to be.
The Corvette also boasts an array of advanced technology features. The centerpiece of the dashboard is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Additionally, the Corvette comes equipped with a premium Bose audio system, wireless charging pad, and a heads-up display that provides important information without distracting the driver.Safety
When it comes to safety, the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is equipped with an impressive range of features to keep you protected on the road. Advanced driver assistance systems include forward collision alert, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Corvette also features a robust chassis construction that provides excellent impact protection. In addition to traditional safety features like airbags and antilock brakes, the Corvette incorporates advanced technologies such as traction control, electronic stability control, and a rearview camera for enhanced visibility.
The mid-engine C8 Corvette remains a pure two-seater, and the futuristic interior is lined with materials such as leather, real metal trim, and imitation suede. It even has a fancy stitched headliner. Speaking of the roof, it’s removable on the coupe—one person can wrestle it off—just like previous Corvettes, and it fits inside the trunk just behind the engine compartment.
The driver sits behind a squared-off steering wheel and a 12.0-inch reconfigurable gauge display. A large infotainment touchscreen is angled toward the driver for ease of use. The interior design takes the driver-focused concept to the max, bisecting the cockpit with a tall bank of switches for the car’s climate-control system located on top of a wall-like separator between the driver and passenger. Opting for the top 3LT package gets you upgraded materials, such as sewn leather on most interior surfaces, plus carbon-fiber trim.
The Corvette has two trunk areas—one in the front and one behind the engine—and offers a total of 13 cubic feet of storage space. Chevrolet claims that the Corvette can fit two sets of golf clubs stacked on top of each other in the rear compartment, and in our testing, we were able to fit our set of clubs easily, so Chevy’s claim seems valid. When it came time to see if there was room for our carry-on-size suitcases, we were able to fit one in the Corvette’s front trunk and two in the rear compartment.

As with any high-performance sports car, the price of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette can vary depending on the chosen trim level and optional features. The base model starts at around $60,000, offering an exceptional value for money considering its performance capabilities.
For those seeking even more performance and luxury, there are higher trim levels available with additional features such as upgraded brakes, sport-tuned suspension, and premium interior finishes. However, these premium options can significantly increase the price tag of the Corvette.
The Corvette is available as either a coupe or a convertible with a folding hard top. Since the coupe’s roof lifts off for open-top motoring anyway, we would recommend sticking with it. Instead, we would suggest spending the money to upgrade to the 2LT version, which adds several features including a head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging pad, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a 14-speaker Bose stereo system, blind-spot monitoring, and much more. Additionally, the Z51 performance package is a must-have as it includes all of the Corvette’s best performance-oriented gear and makes the Vette track-capable.
