Woman hit by car Adelaide ! A woman has died after she was struck by a car in a hit and run in the carpark of a fast food restaurant in Adelaide.

The 56-year-old from Ascot Park was struck in the carpark of a Hungry Jacks on the corner of Grote Street and West Terrace on March 4 at about 6.15am, with the driver fleeing the scene.

The woman was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital but died from her injuries on March 30.

The circumstances surrounding the hit and run are being investigated by police and anybody with information or dashcam footage are urged to come forward.

The woman’s death marks the 39th life lost on South Australian roads this year, compared to 17 at the same time last year.

Police say the car fled the scene following the crash and are continuing investigations into who was behind the collision.
