Hyundai Australia has added the brand’s ‘Bluelink’ package to its Tucson mid-size SUV line-up, the new tech delivering a broad suite of connected car services, at the same time adding $500 to the price of the mid-range Elite grade and top-spec Highlander models.
The entry-level Tucson doesn’t pick up Bluelink and its price is unchanged.
Debuting locally with the Palisade in early 2022, and offered on the Venue Elite from January this year, Bluelink incorporates more than a dozen key features from voice recognition and weather reports to a ‘Vehicle Health’ diagnostic function and Cloud back-ups.

Engine, drivetrain, and fuel economy
Under the bonnet, the 2023 Hyundai Tucson is available with a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol, or a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.
The base engine is a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed torque converter automatic.
Power is rated at 115kW and 192Nm, with the drive being sent exclusively to the front wheels.
The same four-pot and FWD configuration is standard for the Elite and Highlander, but a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine that sends its power (132kW/265Nm) to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is also available.
A 137kW/416Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine is optional for the Elite and Highlander. It is matched to an eight-speed torque-converter automatic that will also power all four wheels.
The petrol Hyundai Tucson has a 1650-kilogram braked towing capacity, while the diesel version ups its rating to 1900 kilograms.
