Overview 2024 Maserati GranTurismo
The GranTurismo sports car has made a triumphant comeback for the 2024 model year, sporting a stunning new look that combines old-school and new-school Maserati designs. Alongside the MC20 sports car in the Maserati lineup, the GranTurismo is available with a detuned version of the Nettuno twin-turbo V-6 engine found in the MC20. Additionally, there is an all-electric model called the GranTurismo Folgore, which we review separately.
We also anticipate a convertible version, known as the GranCabrio, but it is unlikely to be released until the 2025 model year. All gasoline-powered models come equipped with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Regardless of the powertrain, the GranTurismo impresses with its dual nature, providing both luxury-car amenities and sports car-like performance and driving pleasure.
Exterior Design of the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo
The 2024 Maserati GranTurismo is a masterpiece in terms of its exterior design. It combines elegance, aerodynamics, and a touch of aggression that sets it apart from its competitors. The sleek, low-profile body, coupled with its sculpted lines and curves, gives the GranTurismo a timeless appeal.
One standout feature is the iconic Maserati front grille, which has been redesigned to give it a more aggressive and modern look. The LED headlights seamlessly integrate into the overall design, providing excellent visibility and a distinctive lighting signature.
Moving to the rear, the GranTurismo boasts a muscular stance with wide rear fenders and an integrated rear spoiler. The quad exhaust pipes add a touch of sportiness and deliver a captivating sound that will surely turn heads wherever you go.
Interior Comfort of the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo
Step inside the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo, and you’ll be greeted by a luxurious and comfortable cabin that exudes sophistication. The interior is meticulously crafted using high-quality materials, such as premium leather upholstery, carbon fiber accents, and brushed aluminum trim.
The spacious cabin offers ample headroom and legroom for both the driver and passengers, ensuring a comfortable ride even on long journeys. The seats are ergonomically designed and provide excellent support, whether you’re carving through corners or cruising on the highway.
The GranTurismo comes equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a high-resolution infotainment system with a large touchscreen display. This system offers seamless smartphone integration, navigation, and access to various entertainment options. Additionally, advanced driver-assistance features ensure safety and convenience during your drive.
The GranTurismo is a luxurious two-door, two-plus-two four-seater that prioritizes both comfort and speed. The interior is adorned with high-quality materials and premium finishes, showcasing Maserati’s attention to detail. The design incorporates numerous amenities, enhancing the overall experience. The front seats are comfortable, and the GranTurismo offers good visibility, making it suitable for daily use and long drives.
While the back seat is slightly more spacious compared to the previous generation, it remains best suited for children or small items like handbags. The trunk appears to have sufficient space for a weekend getaway, but we will conduct tests with carry-on suitcases once we have access to a GranTurismo at our office. It’s important to note that the trunk capacity may decrease with the introduction of the GranCabrio, as it will need additional space to accommodate a folding fabric roof.

Powertrain Performance of the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo
Under the hood, the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo is powered by a formidable engine that delivers exhilarating performance. The base model is equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing an impressive horsepower and torque. This power plant propels the GranTurismo from 0 to 60 mph in just under four seconds, making it a true sports car in every sense.
The engine is mated to an advanced eight-speed automatic transmission, providing seamless gear shifts and exceptional responsiveness. The GranTurismo also features rear-wheel drive, ensuring optimal handling and dynamic performance on both open roads and twisty tracks.
Maserati has equipped the GranTurismo with cutting-edge suspension technology, allowing for precise control and a smooth ride. The adaptive suspension system adjusts to different driving conditions, ensuring optimal comfort and handling at all times.
The GranTurismo is equipped with a detuned version of the twin-turbo V-6 engine found in the MC20 sports car. In the base Modena trim, it produces 483 horsepower, but upgrading to the Trofeo trim increases power output to 542 ponies. Both models offer a smooth and comfortable cruising experience. The engine, with its unique twin-combustion design inspired by Formula 1 racing, delivers a distinctive and melodious sound.
The most powerful variant of the GranTurismo is the all-electric Folgore (which will be reviewed separately), capable of generating a combined 750 horsepower from its three electric motors. All gasoline-powered GranTurismo models come with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, with no manual transmission option available.
With the drive mode set to Comfort, the standard air suspension provides excellent bump absorption and ensures a smooth and balanced ride. Switching to Sport mode transforms the GranTurismo into a more focused sports car, with firmer suspension settings, heavier steering feel, and a deeper exhaust note from the tailpipes.
Maserati claims that the 483-hp GranTurismo Modena, when launched using the launch control function, can reach 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, which is only 0.5 seconds slower than the more powerful and lighter MC20 achieved in our test track. The 542-hp Trofeo model boasts a claimed zero-to-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds.
While the GranTurismo’s chassis offers excellent dynamic performance, we did find that the brakes lacked confidence-inspiring feedback during our initial test drive. Despite this, the braking performance seemed decent. We will update this story with more detailed test results once we have the opportunity to drive the GranTurismo on our local roads.
Technology of the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo
The new GranTurismo comes with Maserati’s latest infotainment system, which is based on Google technology and was initially introduced in the Grecale model. The system features a 12.3-inch touchscreen prominently positioned in the center of the dashboard. Just below that, there is an 8.8-inch display dedicated to climate control settings.
Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are included, and they can be used wirelessly. To provide convenient access to essential information, a head-up display is available, offering details such as speed and navigation directions within the driver’s line of sight. The audio system in the GranTurismo is developed by Italian audio tuner Sonus Faber and boasts up to 19 speakers for an immersive sound experience.
Fuel Efficiency of the 2024 Maserati GranTurismo
According to EPA estimates, the GranTurismo is expected to achieve fuel efficiency of 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. These numbers are quite respectable considering the performance capabilities of this sports car. Once we have a production model available for testing, we will also conduct our own 75-mph highway fuel economy test and provide our findings.
