2024 Land Rover Range Rover
The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover stands as a testament to Land Rover’s commitment to blending opulence with rugged versatility. As one of the most coveted luxury SUVs in the automotive industry, the Range Rover has consistently set benchmarks for refinement, innovation, and all-terrain proficiency. With the 2024 model, Land Rover has raised the bar even higher, introducing a host of advancements that cater to the discerning needs of modern drivers.
The Range Rover has been the SUV of choice for celebrities and the wealthy elite for decades. It pampers its passengers like a luxury car, while still offering off-road capability that allows it to venture well off the red carpet. All models come with all-wheel drive, an adjustable air suspension, and plenty of ground clearance. You can choose between inline-six, plug-in-hybrid, and V-8 powertrains. The Range Rover can also be equipped with various luxury features, including massaging seats in both rows, rear bucket seats, power-deployable rear-seat tray tables, and a beverage chiller.
Regardless of the version you choose, you’ll pay a six-figure price, making the Range Rover more expensive than entry-level versions of rivals such as the Cadillac Escalade, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class. However, it’s this obvious extravagance that attracts the image-obsessed buyers of the Range Rover, and after sampling several variants of this latest generation of the luxury SUV, we can see why.
It’s still early in the fifth generation of the Range Rover, but Land Rover has already tweaked the powertrain lineup for 2024. The plug-in-hybrid P440e has been replaced with a more powerful P550e, which now delivers 542 horsepower. The P400 and P530 models remain unchanged in terms of horsepower ratings, but the top-spec SV model is now powered by a 606-hp V-8 engine that carries the P615 moniker.
In addition, Land Rover has introduced a new customization service called SV Bespoke, which offers buyers more opportunities for personalization when building their dream Range Rover. To draw attention to its SV Bespoke program, Land Rover revealed an ultra-exclusive Carmel Edition model during the 2023 Monterey Car Week event in California. The $371,475 special edition features Cream Ash Burr and white ceramic interior trim, pearl oyster accents, two-tone leather upholstery, specially embroidered cushions, and unique 23-inch wheels with white inserts. The result is quite spectacular; only seven will be built.
Design and Exterior of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover
The exterior of the 2024 Range Rover is a masterclass in contemporary automotive design. Boasting a commanding presence, this SUV exudes sophistication and strength in equal measure. From the signature floating roof to the sleek, aerodynamic lines, every aspect of the Range Rover’s exterior has been meticulously crafted to elevate its visual appeal.
The front fascia is dominated by an imposing grille flanked by LED headlights that exude a sense of modernity. The overall silhouette maintains the Range Rover’s unmistakable identity while incorporating subtle updates that enhance its allure.
Interior and Comfort of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover
Step inside the 2024 Range Rover, and you’ll find yourself immersed in a sanctuary of luxury and comfort. The cabin is adorned with premium materials, exquisite craftsmanship, and a wealth of cutting-edge amenities. The spaciousness of the interior ensures that every passenger is treated to an indulgent experience, with ample legroom and headroom adding to the overall sense of opulence.
The seating is sumptuously appointed, providing exceptional support and comfort even during extended journeys. The attention to detail is evident in every element of the interior, from the meticulously stitched leather upholstery to the elegant wood and metal trims that accentuate the grandeur of the space.
As with past generations of the Range Rover, this new generation model offers a plush interior decked out with rich leathers and woods. However, buyers who want a more sustainable cabin can now opt for a new leather-free option, which substitutes wool or other textiles. The interior can be arranged to seat four, five, or seven, depending on configuration and wheelbase.
The third row, even in long-wheelbase trims, may not fit tall adults, as the headroom there is somewhat limited, but shorter riders and kids will find it nearly as comfortable as the second row. An optional motorized divider for the cargo area helps keep things from moving around too much during travel, and the Range Rover’s split rear liftgate can be used as convenient and comfortable seating for outdoor events.
Advanced Technology and Infotainment of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover
The 2024 Range Rover seamlessly integrates advanced technology to elevate the driving experience. An intuitive infotainment system takes center stage, offering seamless connectivity, navigation, and entertainment features. The interface is not only user-friendly but also visually stunning, with crisp graphics and swift responsiveness.
In addition to the infotainment system, the Range Rover is equipped with a suite of driver-assistance and safety technologies that provide unparalleled peace of mind on the road. From adaptive cruise control to lane-keeping assist and 360-degree camera systems, every innovation serves to enhance both convenience and safety.
All models now come with a new 13.1-inch curved infotainment display featuring Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro interface. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both included as standard, and the system also features Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. Other standard features include in-dash navigation, wireless smartphone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 13.7-inch digital gauge display. An optional rear-seat entertainment system with dual 11.4-inch displays is available, as well as a Meridian stereo system with 35 speakers and noise-canceling technology embedded into the headrests.
Performance and Capability of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover
Beneath its refined exterior lies the heart of a true off-road champion. The 2024 Range Rover combines formidable off-road capability with dynamic on-road performance, thanks to its advanced suspension systems, powerful engines, and intelligent all-wheel-drive technology.
Whether navigating challenging terrain or cruising along the highway, the Range Rover delivers a driving experience that is as exhilarating as it is composed. The precise handling, robust power delivery, and adaptive dynamics ensure that this SUV remains unrivaled in its class.
The 2024 Range Rover offers a range of potent engine options, each delivering a compelling blend of performance and efficiency. From refined diesel powertrains to electrifying plug-in hybrid systems, there’s an engine configuration to suit diverse driving preferences. The seamless integration of hybrid technology not only enhances fuel economy but also reduces emissions without compromising on power or capability.
The Range Rover is available with four powertrains: a turbocharged inline-six with a 48-volt hybrid system called P400 that delivers 395 horsepower. During our initial test drive, it proved to be smooth and provided enough power to move the large Range Rover. A 523-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 engine—referred to as P530 by Land Rover—is even more powerful and increases the Range Rover’s towing capacity to 8200 pounds. In our test, the P530 accelerated the Range Rover to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds; the P400 did it in 5.5 seconds. A 542-hp plug-in hybrid option—named P550e—is also available, but only on the short wheelbase Autobiography trim, while the top-of-the-line SV comes with a 606-hp V-8 called P615.
Our long-wheelbase P400 test vehicle reached 60 mph in a fairly brisk 5.5 seconds, while the short-wheelbase P530 we tested did it in just 4.3 seconds. The Range Rover’s ride is suitably plush, and with its adjustable air suspension set to Comfort mode, it almost floats down the road. Switching to Dynamic mode firms things up, but the big Rover still prioritizes comfort.
The EPA has not yet released official range estimates for the plug-in hybrid P550e, but Land Rover says the system’s 31.8-kWh battery pack should provide approximately 51 miles of electric-only driving range. The P550e is capable of DC fast charging or can be charged at a home-based charger.
The most fuel-efficient Range Rover will likely be the plug-in hybrid P550e, but the EPA has not estimated fuel economy numbers for that model yet. The entry-level P400 is rated for 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, while the V-8–powered P530 has earned 16 mpg city and 21 mpg highway estimates. On our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, both the P400 and the P530 delivered the same 23 mpg result. For more information about the Range Rover’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.

Key safety features include:

Pricing and Customization Options of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover
One of the hallmarks of owning a Range Rover is the ability to tailor the vehicle to individual preferences. The 2024 model continues this tradition, offering an extensive array of customization options that allow owners to create a truly bespoke SUV. From paint finishes and wheel designs to interior trims and technological enhancements, the Range Rover can be personalized to reflect the unique tastes of its owner.
P400 SE
|
$108,875 |
P530 SE | $131,750 |
P550e Autobiography | $142,575 |
P530 Autobiography | $167,750 |
P615 SV
|
$210,475 |
Carmel Edition | $371,475 |
We recommend opting for the mid-range Autobiography model, which includes several sought-after items that luxury buyers will appreciate. For example, the Autobiography comes standard with a 1600-watt Meridian stereo system featuring headrest-mounted speakers and active noise cancellation. The Range Rover is offered in both short- and long-wheelbase body styles, and we suggest going for the latter since it creates room for a third row of seats and provides a more generous cargo area.
