A Comprehensive Review of the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder
Nissan Pathfinder 2024 for Chinese users is produced by Dongfeng Nissan joint venture. The car has a somewhat different appearance compared to the American version. Photos posted by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) show that the front of the 2024 Pathfinder is more prominent with a large grille and swept-back headlights. The exterior design is very similar to the Pathfinder concept launched in April this year with the only significant change being the lack of LED light strips connecting the headlights and taillights.

Overview 2024 Nissan Pathfinder
When it comes to practical family transportation, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder fulfills the requirements. However, despite its rugged appearance, it should not be mistaken for a vehicle capable of tackling rough terrains like a Jeep or a Land Rover.
Even the enhanced Rock Creek Edition fails to significantly improve its off-road capabilities. Instead, the Pathfinder excels on pavement. It is equipped with a smooth V-6 engine that provides adequate power, a suspension that is well-tuned for comfort, and a spacious and quiet cabin.
The Pathfinder also boasts a generous towing capacity of up to 6000 pounds, surpassing rivals such as the Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, and Toyota Highlander. Nevertheless, we believe there are slightly better value options available among mid-size SUVs, with some either offering better handling for driving enthusiasts or providing genuine off-road capabilities.
Nissan’s mid-size SUV remains unchanged for the 2024 model year. The Rock Creek Edition, which was introduced last year, will continue to be available for 2024 as well.
Exterior Design of the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder
The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder boasts a bold and modern exterior design that commands attention on the road. The front fascia features a prominent V-motion grille, flanked by sleek LED headlights that provide excellent visibility during nighttime driving. The sculpted lines and muscular fenders give the Pathfinder a rugged yet refined look, while the available panoramic sunroof adds a touch of luxury. The overall design of the Pathfinder is both stylish and practical, making it an appealing choice for families and adventure enthusiasts alike.
Although there are no major changes in design and features compared to the previous version, Pathfinder 2024 still has notable points worth mentioning.
The 2024 Pathfinder has a strong and modern exterior design, with Nissan’s signature V-Motion grille. The car is equipped with LED headlights, daytime running lights and LED taillights.
Interior Comfort of the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder
Step inside the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder, and you’ll be greeted by a spacious and well-appointed cabin. With seating for up to seven passengers, this SUV offers ample legroom and headroom in all three rows. The seats are comfortable and supportive, perfect for long journeys or daily commutes. The Pathfinder also features a versatile seating arrangement, with the option to fold down the second and third rows to create additional cargo space when needed. Whether you’re hauling groceries or packing for a weekend getaway, the Pathfinder has you covered.
The Pathfinder showcases a contemporary and rugged interior design, featuring comfortable front seats and strategically positioned controls. With three rows of seating, it can accommodate up to eight passengers. However, buyers have the option to exchange the standard second-row bench seat for captain’s chairs, which reduces the capacity to seven but is a desirable feature in a family crossover.
Nissan has thoughtfully integrated storage compartments throughout the cabin, including a spacious bin beneath the center console that can be accessed by the driver or front-seat passenger. The higher trim levels are equipped with luxurious amenities such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Technology of the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder
Nissan has equipped the 2024 Pathfinder with an array of advanced technology features to enhance your driving experience. The standard infotainment system includes an 8-inch touchscreen display, which provides easy access to navigation, audio controls, and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Higher trim levels offer a larger 9-inch touchscreen and a premium Bose audio system for those seeking a more immersive in-car entertainment experience. Additionally, the Pathfinder comes with a host of driver-assistance technologies, such as blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking, ensuring your safety on the road.
An 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen is included as standard and features the latest version of the NissanConnect software interface. On the SL and Platinum models, a larger 9.0-inch display is provided as standard. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard, with the former offering wireless syncing on higher trims.
Optional features include a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, an onboard Wi-Fi hot spot, a wireless smartphone charging pad, SiriusXM satellite radio, a head-up display, and an in-dash navigation system. While a basic six-speaker stereo is provided as standard, an optional 13-speaker Bose system is available.
Performance and Efficiency of the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder
Under the hood, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder is powered by a potent 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers an impressive 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a smooth-shifting continuously variable transmission (CVT), providing seamless acceleration and effortless cruising on the highway. The Pathfinder also offers available Intelligent 4×4, which automatically adjusts power distribution between the front and rear wheels to optimize traction in various driving conditions. Despite its powerful performance, the Pathfinder remains fuel-efficient, with an estimated EPA rating of 23 MPG combined.
While the Pathfinder maintains the 3.5-liter V-6 engine from the previous-generation model, it has replaced the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) with a new nine-speed automatic transmission. In most models, the V-6 engine produces 284 horsepower, but it is boosted to 295 horsepower in the Rock Creek trim. The standard configuration is front-wheel drive, but all trims have the option to be equipped with all-wheel drive. Opting for the all-wheel-drive system also includes seven drive modes, including specific modes for off-road driving such as Sand and Mud/Rut.
During our test track evaluation, our front-wheel-drive Pathfinder SL test vehicle accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds, while the model with all-wheel drive achieved the same in 6.6 seconds. These results indicate that the all-wheel-drive Pathfinder is faster than both the Kia Telluride and the Toyota Highlander. While the handling may not be particularly memorable or entertaining, the Pathfinder provides a smooth ride, and Nissan’s efforts in sound-deadening contribute to an exceptionally quiet cabin during cruising.
According to the EPA, the most fuel-efficient Pathfinder is the one equipped with optional all-wheel drive, achieving ratings of 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. The front-wheel-drive model also achieves the same city and combined ratings, but slightly lower highway mileage at 26 mpg. During our 75-mph highway fuel economy test, our all-wheel-drive test vehicle surpassed its EPA rating and achieved an impressive 28 mpg.
