Overview 2024 Maserati Levante
The 2024 Maserati Levante can be described as a muscular bodybuilder dressed in an elegant Italian designer suit. It makes a bold entrance into the luxury SUV market by offering a perfect blend of athletic performance and sophisticated style. While the base model boasts a twin-turbo V-6 engine, the real star is the optional twin-turbo V-8, available in 550 or 572 horsepower variations.
This powerful engine delivers impressive performance that is both exhilarating and easy to harness. Moreover, all Levante models emit a melodic symphony when pushed to their limits, adding to the gratifying experience of driving this SUV. The interior of the Levante is adorned with top-notch materials, including a unique leather-and-silk upholstery option created in collaboration with Ermenegildo Zegna.
e switches and buttons inside the cabin are borrowed from the Chrysler parts inventory, which compromises the overall luxuriousness. Nonetheless, with the captivating Italian soundtrack emanating from under the hood, you may find yourself less concerned about the plastic used for the window switches. However, the price tag is something to consider since the Levante requires a significant six-figure investment regardless of the chosen version.
This year marks the final production year for the powerful V-8 engine in the Levante, and there are indications that it may also signal the end of the current generation of this mid-size SUV. Although Maserati has not officially confirmed this, we suspect that the Levante’s current iteration will come to a close. To bid it a proper farewell, Maserati will offer a Trofeo Ultima trim with exclusive design touches such as distinctive wheel designs, painted brake calipers, finely stitched leather upholstery, and a commemorative plaque on the dashboard. While there is a possibility that the Levante could continue into the 2025 model year before a redesign, we anticipate that it is approaching the end of its lifecycle.
Exterior Design of the 2024 Maserati Levante
The 2024 Maserati Levante boasts a captivating and dynamic exterior design that effortlessly combines elegance with sportiness. The front fascia features a redesigned grille with the iconic trident logo, flanked by sleek LED headlights that give the Levante a distinct and aggressive look. The sculpted body lines enhance the aerodynamics and create an athletic appearance. The vehicle’s proportions are perfectly balanced, showcasing its powerful stance and luxurious appeal.
Interior Comfort of the 2024 Maserati Levante
Step inside the cabin of the 2024 Maserati Levante, and you’ll be enveloped in opulence and comfort. The interior is meticulously crafted using premium materials such as fine leather, wood trim, and brushed aluminum accents. The spacious seating provides ample legroom and headspace for both the driver and passengers. The ergonomic design ensures maximum comfort during long drives, while the adjustable seats offer customizable support. The Levante delights with its attention to detail, offering features like ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and a state-of-the-art sound system that elevate the overall driving experience.
At first glance, the interior of the Levante exudes a sense of luxury and refinement, especially in our test vehicle, which featured a rich dark-brown full-leather treatment. The inclusion of open-pore wood trim, a leather-covered dashboard, tasteful chrome accents, and the classic Maserati analog clock all contribute to the Levante’s elegant and traditional luxury ambiance. However, upon closer inspection, some parts are noticeably shared with other Stellantis brands. For instance, the window switches, wiper-control stalk, and ignition button are the same as those found in the Jeep Cherokee, which is somewhat disappointing.
Nevertheless, the controls operate intuitively and are an improvement over some of the less ergonomic designs Maserati has produced in the past. Speaking of ergonomics, the driving position in the Levante is comfortable and tailored for spirited driving. The Levante places a strong emphasis on style, much like a pair of Versace stilettos. Despite this focus on aesthetics, the cargo area still manages to accommodate a respectable number of carry-on suitcases (eight behind the rear seat, 19 with the rear seats folded), although other vehicles in this segment offer even better practicality. However, when parked alongside its competitors, the Levante’s design flair easily outshines their practicality.

Technology of the 2024 Maserati Levante
Maserati has equipped the 2024 Levante with an array of cutting-edge technology to enhance convenience, safety, and entertainment. The infotainment system features a large touchscreen display that integrates seamlessly with smartphone connectivity platforms like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The intuitive interface allows for easy navigation through various functions and settings. Advanced driver-assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist contribute to a safer driving experience. Additionally, the Levante offers a premium sound system by Harman Kardon or an optional Bowers & Wilkins system for audiophiles seeking an unparalleled audio experience.
We have not yet had the opportunity to test Maserati’s latest infotainment interface, but it is said to be beautifully presented on the 8.4-inch touchscreen of the Levante. The majority of vehicle functions, including climate controls, are accessed through the infotainment display, which also features a voice-activated virtual assistant. Standard features include navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Additionally, a wireless charging pad is included. While the standard eight-speaker stereo system is satisfactory, buyers have the option to upgrade to either a 14-speaker Harman/Kardon setup or a 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system.
Performance of the 2024 Maserati Levante
Under the hood, the 2024 Maserati Levante offers an impressive range of performance options to suit different driving preferences. The base model is equipped with a robust V6 engine that delivers exhilarating power and acceleration. For those seeking even more performance, Maserati offers a twin-turbocharged V8 engine option that propels the Levante from 0 to 60 mph in a breathtaking time. The Levante’s intelligent all-wheel drive system ensures optimal traction and handling on various road conditions, making it suitable for both city driving and off-road adventures.
Although it may not be the swiftest or most potent luxury crossover with a focus on performance, the Levante undeniably offers an impressive soundtrack. The majority of Levante models are equipped with a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine that propels 345 horsepower (or 430 horses in the Modena) to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Our tests have shown that a 2017 V-6 Levante achieves a zero-to-60-mph time of 5.1 seconds, outperforming the Mercedes-AMG GLE53. The Modena and Trofeo models boast a twin-turbo V-8 engine with 550 and 572 horsepower, respectively.
On the test track, a GTS (replaced by the Modena S for 2022) reached 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, while a Trofeo accomplished the same feat in 3.6 seconds. When driving on anything other than ultra-smooth road surfaces, the Levante’s ride can feel jolting when the adaptive shocks are set in sport mode. However, when switched to comfort mode, the ride becomes much more pleasant, although the suspension retains its firmness in the default setting.
On paper, the Levante is not known for its fuel efficiency. Its EPA estimates for V-6 models, at 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway, align more closely with V-8-powered competitors than other V-6 vehicles. However, in our real-world testing, the V-6 surprised us with a highway fuel economy of 24 mpg, surpassing its official ratings. The V-8 models have EPA ratings of 13 mpg city and 20 mpg highway, but in our tests, they achieved 20 mpg. For more detailed information on the Levante’s fuel economy, please refer to the EPA’s website.
Safety Features of the 2024 Maserati Levante
Maserati prioritizes safety in the 2024 Levante by incorporating advanced safety features to protect both occupants and pedestrians. Alongside the standard suite of airbags and stability control systems, the Levante offers a comprehensive set of driver-assistance technologies. These include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive headlights, and a surround-view camera system. These safety features provide peace of mind for both driver and passengers.
The Levante comes equipped with a few standard driver-assistance features, while more advanced technologies are available as optional upgrades throughout the range. For detailed information regarding the Levante’s crash test results, please visit the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Key safety features include:
- Standard automatic high-beam headlamps
- Standard blind-spot monitoring
